Hi everybody,
I have this issue in my laptop with windows 8.1: the game starts but its muted.
already tried to uninstall and reinsall, update .net framework, start in compatibility mode windows XP and Windows 7, give full control to ever user of the computer, change the resolution to 1280x768, these are all the solution that I could find in this forum, but none of them worked for me. I don't have any error message or crash, it justt runs wihout soundtrack.
Any other suggestion?
Thanks in advance!

People with 64 bit Windows were able to solve this by uninstalling Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redist Package (x86) and installing the 64 bit version Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package (x64)

Worth a try, in my opinion.

Thanks a lot, but unfortunately it didn't work for me.
That's really annoyng, since I have bought this game principally for its soundtrak (certainly not for the graphics)
:\ well, I'll wait other solutions.

Just to clarify, do you use Windows 7 64 bit or 32 bit?

Also make sure DirectX9 is properly installed by re-installing it:

Hey I solved it:
when i updated to windows 8.1, I forgot to update audio and video drivers from my laptop manufacturer website (I was sure that windows made it by default, well I was wrong).
So it was my fault, thanks the same for your support!
Bye!

Basically the new drivers reinstalled Visual C++ Redist, but with the drivers of my laptop, so I think that this was already the solution, I'll mark it, since I cannot mark my own message as solution. Thanks again.
