I updated my Mac to version 10.8.5, so I decided to give the new update to Hotline Miami a try. It works great except for one small nitpick. When I'm in fullscreen mode and I move the mouse all the way to the top of the screen to scroll the playing field up, the menu bar appears from the top and traps my cursor up there until I bring it down. This split second of non-control can make this game that much more difficult. Is there a way to prevent this from happening and not make the game think that I want to switch it back to windowed mode?

Sorry to bring this back from the dead, but I'm having the same problem. So annoying!
So I assume there is still no fix to this?
Up here, me too. Also dock is still active in fullscreen so I end up launching the most idiotic applications during gameplay (who wouldn't like Final Cut or Davinci Resolve to launch mid game?).
This is a _serious_bug_ and hinders gameplay to the point to utter non playability
I'm not sure if it's ok to reply to forum posts when people have long forgotten about them, but ... has this issue been resolved? It's been years, and the bug is still there. The game is unplayable like this. I've emailed the devs just now, but have any of you found a solution?
