I'm a huge fan of Battlezone, and I'm probably going to buy Antaeus sometime soon. Anyway, to satisfy my craving, I'm also looking for similar titles to this and Battlezone. Aside from Uprising 2 (which doesn't work properly on my PC), are there other games that are like these 3?
those were the ones i was gonna recommend.
The only other ones i could suggest are Savage 1 and 2. They don't have much singleplayer if i remember rightly, but they are also a kind of RTS/FPS hybrid. I think savage 1 is freeware now, with lots of fan-made enhancements. Savage 2 might be too...
I used to play Savage 2 as well. I stopped because I grew tired of abusive players. Thanks anyway.
Battlezone 1/2 are *kind of* like this in the sense of first person in vehicles and strategy, but the supposed upcoming Carrier Command remake will be the holy grail if it ever makes is.

I checked out the new Carrier Command remake. Wow I can't wait till it gets released, it really looks awesome
Hmmm so let's conclude, games similar to HW:
- Battlezone
- Sacrifice
Really? That's it? This genre really needs to be revived with something good, and I do hope Carrier Command remake does it. Other than that, it's kinda sad there's nothing else to play in this genre.
There are a number of games which blend strategy with first-person action to some extent.
Hostile Waters and Battlezone have been mentioned. Battlezone 2 continues to receive unofficial patches, incidentally.
Uprising and its sequel were touched upon already. They were released at a similar time to the Battlezones, but the gameplay is rather different again. I've not played Uprising 2, but I'm quite fond of the first one. It takes a bit of getting used to -- you can call in support units from your tank, but you can't direct them around, which seems weird at first -- but it's a really nice game IMO. How does Uprising 2 fail on your machine, lowyhong?
And then there's Urban Assault, which hasn't been mentioned. Trailer here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dgAnpPxu1z4
Sadly I've also not played this one, but I've heard some good things about it.

I forgot, I think I got it to run but the frame rates were piss poor and there were many graphical artifacts. I finally gave up after dealing with a headache thanks to the graphics.
Sad that there are only like 6-7 games in this genre :(
warzone 2100? i think its opensource now.
You might like Darwinia. That's not to say it's exactly like Hostile Waters, but there are certain parallels.
I know what you're referring to when mentioning Darwinia, but still not what I'm looking for. I like to get into the heat of action, in other words FPS/TPS, yet at the same time being able to play the game from a strategic level. Warzone 2100 doesn't come close.

It has already been mentionned: Urban Assault. It is very similar to Hostile waters in that you can order your units on a map, or take control of one of them and go blast your foes up close and personal. It also gets quite challenging real quick.
