I recently updated to the latest version and there is significant pop-in of environment shadows/volumetric light effect. Particularly noticeable when walking from the fire near the gate where you first leave the start area towards the mountains in the north. The "bloom" effect and the shadows from the mountains on the ground (at sunset especially) pop in and out like mad. Saw this post on Steam, but no solution: https://steamcommunity.com/app/1151640/discussions/0/2840039920166492046/

I have a GTX 2070 on my laptop with plenty of RAM and an NVMe SSD, so the computer should have plenty of juice, and there wasn't any problem on an older version. Not sure if possible to downgrade since I installed via GOG Galaxy.

Has anyone had/solved this issue before?

I don't have the issue (maybe for I don't use the best effect options).
Maybe try to find and grow in config files the distance of pop.
Or lessen your options so there is no longer seen differences in the pop effects.

Well, the game is poorly coded and cannot keep frame pacing with its own limiter. It’s not that your settings are too high, it’s that this isn’t coded well. I can tell you a trick. Use NV CP and limit the fps to 60 or 70 for this title. It’ll be smooth as butter now.
With vsync in game and not in Nvidia Cp that is.
