Hi, I finally bit the bullet and bought the subject game. But I can not play it. The first cut scene plays well until it arrives at the Menu/Settings screen. I can press F and select any of the settings areas. For instance I can press F to go into the Settings area then I change the graphics display to Medium - when I try to save it, the display darkens and a little wheel revolves for ever. The same thing happens when I select the Degree of Difficulty screen - press any selection and the wheels spins away. End result is I can not progress beyond this screen. Does anyone have a clue as to what I am doing wrong?

Do an online test of your system for Horizon Zero Dawn complete edition. It must pass for at least the minimum recommendations. From what you describe, your setup doesn't even pass for the minimum requirements. This game is designed in such a way that it forces you to sometimes do a massive update, which is a very good racket for game hardware manufacturers.

Have you checked that the game can write to your ...\documents folder? It needs to because your profile and savegames are stored there.

Come to think of it, wasn't one of the patches supposed to solve the startup crash?

The game runs perfectly on my PC, BUT....
sometimes (1 chance out of 3..) I can't start the game. I tried many different approaches and here is what is working for me :
1 verify / fix the game (check on the game page, when you use galaxy).
EACH time, it will re download one file (roughly 1.1 Mo...). Then it works .

2 close galaxy. start the game the game WITH the shortcut created on your desktop.
It will launch again Galaxy and.. it works !
Strangely, the last update (November 2020) was supposed to fix this..

But the game is really better on PC compare to Ps4 pro. One of my friend bought a PS5 only for the sequel of this game, coming on PS5, in 2021 (I hope for him...).
Maybe we will see this sequel on GOG in 2 or 3 years ??
