If you get behind the house at the start of the post-childhood game, you can see what appears to be a large bloodstain under the building.

(Getting the camera right underneath in photo mode suggests the redness may partly be due to lighting for some reason, but still. It looks like a bloodstain.)

Is there something about these two isolated outcasts in the mountains we're not being told...?
