Hi, I figured this might be an ok place to ask about this, even though it is more geared towards the remastered version.

I am trying to patch my retail / cd version of Homeworld 1 (1999). Once installed, it is version 1.0. But from there I am having trouble patching it to 1.05.

Trying to patch the game, I downloaded a 1.05 patch from the suggested links on pc gaming wiki, move the files to my install folder, overwrite, and then run the patcher. Once I do so however, I receive the message: "Patch failed - file 3Dfx not copied to C:\PC Games\Homeworld\3Dfx"

I have tried running the patcher in administrator mode and compatibility mode, trying each of the available compatibility options. Still the same message.

So is it still possible to patch the retail version of the game or is this just not possible anymore on windows 11? Any tips on how to? I would prefer to use my classic cd version over (re)buying the remastered version.
