So at the end of mission 5, after completing all the objectives (all beast ships destroyed/carrier forced to hyperspace away), I click the end mission button. The game goes into cinematic mode- but then absolutely nothing happens. No dialogue, no hyperspace, no nothing. It just re-focuses on the command ship, goes into cutscene-bordered mode, but gets stuck there for eternity.

Anyone else run into this bug? I do not remember this being an issue in the original version of the game.

Hi there,

I've got the same problem with mission 15.

I've read some posts regarding the same issue in the remastered collection, but there, the solution is quite easy:

reload a save before the mission end/hyperspace option is available.

This doesnt work for me in mission 15 in emergence.
I reloaded several times, i tried the ~end of mission save, i restarted the mission several times, i even loaded the previous mission and played to the end of mission 15 again.

The bentusi story sequence just wont trigger after pushing the hyperspace button J (or the contect-menu-command or the down-left-end mission button). The game centers on the kuun lan, cinematic mode is activated and then nothing happens, the game wont accept any inputs besides rotating camera and zooming. Tab-ing out of the game to desktop produces a black screen on return.
OK I solved my problem.

I don't know why but it helped to change the 3D settings from default D3D to (GL) default OpenGL and then tab out of the game while in cinematic mode (mission end triggered) and back in.

I read about problems with default D3D and by the way got rid of this infuriating input lag in building and systems manager.

I don't know if this helps you MrMoreDakka (nice name btw :-P) but you should try it out.
I was quite pissed about this gamestopper for the last 2 days...

Thank you so much from Canada in 2023 :-) Had the same problem and thought that I modified the game too much. So glad for your post, I was able to fix the issue in something like 10 min rather than being frustrated about the game all day!
