Hi, I'm wondering if anyone else is having trouble installing Hollow Knight? I'm running the exe file on a Windows 7 64-bit machine, and, oddly, the installer behaves differently than every other installer in my GOG library. Where, upon running other installers, a window opens asking me to confirm the installation, when I run the Hollow Knight exe, nothing happens. Looking at my task manager, a process is definitely running for the installer, but even when I leave it running for an hour, nothing changes. To top it off, the process seems completely unresponsive, and I cannot even force end it from within the task manager. Now, I've followed all the advice in the support page, disabling UAC, checking the permissions of the program, and deleting and redownloading both exe and bin file, but none of these efforts resolve the problem.
I've contacted GOG support, and they advised me to attempt downloading it through GOG Galaxy. In spite of the general tendency for Galaxy to be buggy for me, I gave it a shot. Again, I had little success, with the Hollow Knight download stopping at 100% when in the moving files phase, and simply hanging there for several hours. Again, I tried all the above solutions as well as disabling my firewall, but nothing helped.
Sorry for the long story, but I'm wondering if anyone else has found the game similarly difficult to install, and if they were able to resolve the problem on their own.
Thanks
