Hi,

I downloaded the Hitman series and started with Code 47.. I am new to these types of games and I am clueless as to how to get him to move, whether right, left, forward etc. I read the info under the mouse/keyboard and it says for example:

num 1 = walk right

and so on.

I am using Windows 10 laptop and if I use my key pad, nothing happens, If I use my mouse, nothing happens.

Can someone please guide me in the right direction. I am a novice for sure.

Check your in-game key assignments in settings/options.

Make sure your numpad is switched on - press NumLock and then try pressing the 123 etc. You can also try options to see if you can rebind the keys.

not sure where to find NUMlock on my keyboard? also not sure what you mean by pressing 123..good grief, I feel like a complete idiot..

Well, you know how the game says to press 1 to move, as you wrote? Do you have keys with only numbers next to enter, to its right? On the right side of your keyboard you should have the "numpad", which is the name for the number keys and buttons next to them:

NumLOCK / * -
7 8 9 +
4 5 6 +
1 2 3

So if you press 1 on the keyboard, you should move. But sometimes you need to turn it on, by press the NumLock key, which should be above the 7. So ingame, try pressing those numbers, and if it doesn't work, try pressing the Numlock key once, and then the numbers again. If you don't have it, then try pressing the numbers above the letters - above QWERTY. However the best thing is to open options, and rebind your keys, if you don't have a numpad, since pressing numbers above the letters is hard in games. Have you read the game manual? It should have a guide on how to rebind the keys, (I think, most PC games have them). It should be on the game download page.

Most laptops do NOT have a num pad. Rebind the keys if possible (assign the movement to other keys).
