Hey, just wanted to tell you that my GDATA Antivirus identifies the Hitman: Silent Assassin setup file from GOG.com as a virus. This happens with NO OTHER GOG.com game setup file. Did anybody have the same experience?
I just had avast tag hitman codename 47 exe and the setup file as malware.

Yep, Avast just did the some thing to me. Probably a false positive connected to a recent update, as Hitman's been on my HDD for months and Avast had never had a problem with it before. >_>
I have the same problem when downloading Agent 47 and Avast detects it. Is it safe to download? What is a false positive?
Bump on Codename 47 and Avast
I can confirm this too. I also use avast! The installer for "Rayman Forever" is similarly being flagged as malware.

Other thread.
I just did a scan with Avast Antivirus and it says the hitman.exe file (from Hitman: Codename 47) has a virus called "Win32:Malware-gen". Has there been any new information on this issue? Is this a false positive?

When isn't it? Submit the file to Avast.

A false positive is when a virus scanner declares a legitimate non virus file as a virus, its a error that occurs when heuristics of a file somehow matches that of a virus or if the heuristic scanner is improperly engineered.

and yes it is perfectly safe to download, anything from GoG = safe.

As stated previously, submit it to whomever made your antivirus so they can do a detailed check and rule it out as a false positive.
Yea this has happened for me as well, using Avast!. I even tried a redownload.
