Before Absolution came out, I bought the Hitman Collection on Steam, and played through Hitman 2 for the first time. Even widescreen 1080p worked just fine, on OpenGL. As usual the D3D never worked at all. Then I updated my Nvidia Drivers and the infamous OpenGL lighting bug messed up the game. Even rolling back the drivers did not work. The game is permanently broken. :( So Square Enix decided to rub it in my face by re-releasing the game on current generation consoles and not the PC, in other words the only platform where the game doesn't work and the only platform that would have required the re-release.

So I have the suspicion that the GoG version will share the same problem. My question is this: Does the GoG version have the "black character textures" OpenGL lighting bug? In the Steam version, Direct3D doesn't work at all, and OpenGL doesn't render lighting on character models making it impossible to recognize enemies.

I wouldn't want to buy the same game again and not have it work this time either. :(

Is that retroactive? Besides it's been more than 30-days. ;)
