does anyone have a good source for user generated additonal maps for this game? I've already completed all of the story mode and the DLCs but I'd love to play more.

How do you access to the online mode? Is GOG Galaxy required?

The game says that cannot connect to the internet. I don't have GOG Galaxy installed.

Yup, I'm running it via GOG Galaxy and it works fine.

It is logical. As in other online GOG games, GOG Galaxy launcher is required to access the online features.

I can confirm that GOG Galaxy is needed for all online features. This is the response from support:

Please refer to the note on our product page regarding your problem:
"Online maps section requires Internet connection and being logged in to account with valid license."

GOG GALAXY is therefore required for the online maps in part because the validation of the license can only be done through the application.
You would need to install GOG GALAXY and log in to it once with your GOG account. After that you can start the game without GOG GALAXY and have access to the online maps.
