Hi,

I think I found a bug in the first mission/trainingmission of H&D2.

It appears on the stand where you learn how to throw granades and shooting with the rocket thrower.

The two targets, both on the right side of the two trenches, don't fall, even if a granade explodes right next to them.
You can't leave the training stand until you finished the training there. So you are stuck. The only option to move on is to press the Esc button and skip the rest of training mission.

I searched a bit around in the internet and found out that this is a known issue. There a also some more bugs in this game which can prevent you from finishing a mission. It's very sad that such a nice game has so many dead ends caused by bugs. I hope GOG can fix them somehow. Completing a mission can last a long time in this game and getting stuck during a mission, not being able to proceed because of a bug, is very frustrating.

Hit them with the Bazooka.
Are there any unofficial patches for this game?

No, no unofficial patches. Training *can* be completed before installting the 1.12 patch - and it's kind of cool too, but i suspect the GOG version (which I've just purchased) is going to be patched up.
I confirm the training mission *can* be finished. The farther away target I hit with the rocket launcher. On the first run, it only took a couple tries, the next time I found it surprisingly hard to hit. But it is possible to hit.

I think I managed to fell the closer target just by lobbing enough grenades at it on the first run. Next time I just used the rocket launcher.

One thing I seem to be running into is that some of the weapons are sometimes incredibly inaccurate, to the point I begin to wonder if they aren't bugged. Because sometimes they shoot spot on. I recall having some issues with the Thompson in the training mission, when shooting crouched. I aimed carefully and shot just one bullet at a time but it would end up way off from where the sights pointed. I think it shot fine standing up.

In the first actual mission, I brought the silenced sten with me. And I ran into trouble with it, having a *really* hard time hitting a nearby target while I was prone or crouched. Emptying half a mag at the foe might fell him but that's not my idea of good gameplay. Am I hitting some bug or did the devs really exaggerate the SMGs' innaccuracy?

Meanwhile the M1 and Springfield seem to always hit spot-on, and the M1 Carbine can shoot pretty fast too.

I had the same issue with the targets in the bazooka / grenade area, it took a direct bazooka blast to take it down, but it was possible. The bigger issue for me was making it to the end of the training twice, and then my soldiers getting killed at the very last step because they walked into barbed wire. =\ And unlike the rest of the game, you can't save your progress in the training mission. I did manage to finish the training on my third try.

A much more serious issue was in the mission where you have to place magnetic mines on the ships, and I didn't realize it but placing the mine on the minesweeper didn't trigger the 'objective completed' flag properly, so I had to redo the entire mission after I had already gotten the Enigma machine and ship charts from the minesweeper. =(

Nevertheless, I'm really enjoying the game, it's my first time playing through it. I finished Hidden & Dangerous way back in the day and liked that one too.

I've also noticed that somehow the training is bugged for me in a very weird way, in the part where you need to "infiltrate" the training pool and get the dog tags, for some reason I always got noticed and failed and when I at least tried to return the jeep, I got 'Discharged for disobeying orders: Mission Failed'...???!! Anyone with the same problem ?

I had this, but used the "giveitem" cheat and gave myself a K98 and just shot the targets after going through about 10 grenades
