I decided to try the demo to see if there's a point in buying this windows-only game. When I run the demo using wine 7.14, a window appears, music plays, but I can only see the game's title at the top and the cursor. The rest of the screen is black. It doesn't respond to clicking or keyboard. I have to manually kill the game process.

There is a message in terminal that the game requires Steam to be running. I tried going to Steam instead and installing there. While demo shows up when you type it in the search box, going there redirects you to the full paid game.

If I run the demo and press space as early as possible, the game runs for several seconds until it freezes completely (characters stop moving). Pressing a combination like alt-tab will display a GameMaker error in script. Typically it's unable to convert filename of some music file to a float.

Okay, my fault, I extracted the demo archive incorrectly. Just make sure you make no mistake while unzipping and it should work.
