I know that there were windows exe files for Homm2. Seems that they are not sadly included in GoG's version. Is there any way of getting them?

It seems like GOG don't want support the Windows version. Which is sad since it works better than the DOS version, at least on Windows XP. There are some threads already about this. Someone said that the Windows version is actually hidden inside the cloned cd image which the modified game uses to play the cd music from. I'm not sure if anyone has mounted that image yet and installed from it, but if it is an exact copy it should work.

Indeed. You just need to make sure you put the WinG DLL (the predecessor to DirectX) in the right place first though. I had to figure that one out when I upgraded to Windows 98 back in the day :)
