I apologise, I technically should not be posting about something like this here, since I have the physical Mastertronic compilation of HoMM games and not the GOG versions from here. But I didn't know where else to turn to with this sort of question.

I'd like to be able to play HoMM I without having the CD in my drive. But unlike the other games in the series, this one has no easily available no-CD patches/cracks. So I'm wondering if anyone else has any idea how I could set the game to run without the CD?

I'm not sure if it makes any difference, but the version in the Mastertronic release is the Windows 95 one and not the DOS version.

Yould could make an image of the cd and use something like daemon tools to mount the image.
