There's no sound in Heroes 3 on one of my better computers. When the intro launches only the 3DO video got sound, the rest of it there's nothing. When played on other computers with lower specs it plays just fine. Any idea why?

Did you make it work? For me there were no problems, but you might try HoMM3 HD mod, it mainly adds support for larger resolutions and more space for heroes/town icons etc., but doesn't change original gameplay at all. Maybe it'll work with this?...

No, I still can't figure the problem out. I'll try the HD mod. Thanks :)

Homm 2 works as well as 5. It's really bugging me that only Homm 3 is doing this. The initial 3d0 slash screen has sound and then once it switches to the intro or the game itself nothing.
Is nobody else having this issue?
I see nobody posted anything but I got it fixed. Apparently my sound card driver was messed up really bad. I formatted my machine and poof issue resolved.

This is not my answer but from another thread here. Apparently this issue happens usually because of a PREVIOUSLY installed copy that needed the CD. There is a Fix though and it is below, you apparently need to remove the old install entries.

* Apparently this error can also occur because it's not being run as admin on newer windows.

mgol: If you run regedit you can check under hkey_local_machine/software and hkey_current_user/software for any 3do or new world computing folders, these should contain any heroes 3 registry settings left over. Make sure you completely uninstall the gog version of heroes 3 before checking for heroes registry settings and removing them. They should normally be under a gog folder but it's better safe then sorry.
THIS HAS NOTHING TODO WITH NO SOUND.
