Hey all, I just got this game last week. (HOMM3)

I used to play it when was newer with my friends on hotseat.

So here is my issue. I like to play, dungeon, fortress, and Inferno. and no matter what I do, I can not seem to defeat a comp player. I dont remember the game being this hard. I just did a Dungeon city with a warlock hero that had 25a, 9d, 11p, 20k, with a army of 405 Infernal troggs, 125 harpy hags, 97 beholders 87 medusa 65 Minotaur kings, 50 manticores(upgradeed I dont remember the name) and 25 black dragons.

I find my first comp major armor, maybe has half the army size I do, and he just rolfstomed me. I did bless and stone skin, casting magic at the units, and it felt like i was hitting him with a pasta noddle.

I dont know what I am doing wrong. I am getting good artifcats and getting my spell book updated. and I just can not seem to stop a comp player.

any advice?

First i would ask are you playing the campaign or just some single scenario?
Is it maybe steadwick's fall that you are currently playing? Because my first try i lost it on second try i won.
Protip: learning certain elements magic like basic fire increases the spells effect, get those elements to expert and level 5 expert wisdom needed for that? Getting more artifacts would be useful and also black dragons are useful immune to all magic so i spammed armagedon to win in the final battle of steadwick's fall.Had much higher spell power than you have in that fight

I am doing just basic random maps. Nothing special. And I have no problems getting an army but when I fight I do like no damage.

For instance in my last fight that I said in my first post, I was level 15 and he was 11. He had attack of 11 and defense of 10 and My 405 infernal Troggs could not dent his units. And then he would just murder them in like 2 hits.

Secondary skills Offense and Armorer can make a huge difference. Also, spells like Shield, Stoneskin, Disrupting Ray, Bless (only on creatures with a big difference in min and max damage), bloodlust, prayer can often be better than direct damage spells.

If you have a save, can you try attaching it to a post?
-Make a copy of the save file, placing the copy on your desktop.
-Change the file extension of the copy to .jpg (or some other picture file format)
-Attach it to a post in this thread.

Keep in mind that Infernal Trogs are a level 1 creature. Even a stack of 20-30 level 6/7 creatures can make a very sizeable dent in the number of Trogs very quickly.

I Am sorry I dont. I am gonna make up a new game and try to win and if it happens again I will do what you said.
If You take a long time to build up your army and town, and computer is taking over another cities You will be overwhelmed. Conquering new cities and exploring map makes game much easier.
