Dear GOG,

How is it there are still no official Mac versions of the Heroes series games? You've put a lot of effort into doing Mac versions of lots of other existing titles, but the Heroes games are some of the absolute best games you have on offer, they've been on GOG 'forever', there's no technical reason why Mac versions couldn't be made available, and yet they're not there. Why?

It's easy enough for a user to make their own Mac version from the Windows games, of course. Heroes I needs Boxer; Heroes II needs Boxer or Wine, depending on the version you use; and Heroes III and up require Wine. It isn't that I haven't got them working.

I just wish that GOG would make their own Mac versions 'officially', because no games are more deserving of this treatment in my opinion. Besides, at present the general release of Boxer does not have the facility to create stand-alone games of the type that GOG releases, and I like games to be stand-alone if possible, so I'd really appreciate 'GOG Boxer' releases of Heroes I and II.
I totally agree with this, especially because the Boxer standalone games support the retina display of my MacBook Pro but the current downloadable version of Boxes does not. I can cheat it by manually setting my resolution to 2880x1800 and then making the game run full screen which does produce a better image once it has been scaled up by the filters.

For those wanting to play along at home, I've got Heroes 1 and 2 running in Boxer and Heroes 3 with the HD mod running in playonmac. I am currently downloading Heroes 4 so I can try to get that working on playonmac as well, but winehq has it listed with a "platinum" rating so I think I should be able to get it going without too much difficutly.

Still, I would love to have all of them avaiable on Mac without this hassle.
i too would like to have heroes on the mac. i think it might come down to at the other end, is ubisoft. maybe
they would need to get on board with the idea, which i don't think they've done on any of their other games
that are on gog. way to busy with watch dogs to care very much about these small change products. maybe
that sounds too negative, but it might actually be the case. man hours might be in large demand at ubisoft.
