I tried all HOMM games and HOMMV runs perfectly well in all resolutions, but HOMMIVWW does not admit the highest resolution and does not let me select it while HOMMV does give the option and it works fine. I found no readme.txt for this issue. HOMMIVWW has different GUIs at different resolutions, so I am very interested in finding a fix. Must be the best game in the franchise, after the classicism of HOMMII, of course. I use a Win 8.1 laptop.

Many Heroes 4 players have reported a lag at the highest resolution, so it's probably not worth attempting.

Yeah? I am still surprised this laptop has played _all_ games without trouble, even those reporting lags and other problems in Win 8.1. I even installed a few games in Win 7 anticipating issues but truth is it was the other way around and it was W7 that had issues, not W8.1. It is still annoying I cannot select the highest resolution while HOMMV does let me select it and it does indeed look weird, though other than that it plays well. I was worried by the interface, but I found it was a limit on the number of open heroes what was changing the interface and not letting me do some things like moving out of the castle and such.
