Has anyone gotten HOMM V to work well on a Mac? I'm using Wineskin and can install it and start it but it freezes frequently. I can't even get a Tribes of the East game started; I can choose a campaign and the "loading" bar finishes but then it freezes solid.

HOMM 2 and 3 work great under Wineskin. Any ideas?

Just curious, did you check out http://appdb.winehq.org? Here's the Heroes V page: http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=application&iId=3233

Click through the various versions there and check out some of the suggestions for getting things working.
Thanks for the link! I checked it out but there wasn't much there.

I also tried installing the trial version of CrossOver and I get the same thing; Tribes of the East freezes when trying to start the first campaign. Poop.

SmokelessJoe: Poop.
I feel ya. I tried to get HOMM V going with Wineskin a while back, but that was with a much older version of Wine / Wineskin, so I don't really know what the latest issues are. Nor do I remember what I did before. :^)

I ended up installing it in Bootcamp, but then found out that my NVidia card (9800M GT) has the "blurry textures" bug that's never been fixed for certain cards. So playing the game is very disappointing. :^(
