I've been playing Heroes 5 for a series for a long while now and up until this mission, the game ran very smoothly. But now the game has been crashing on me during this mission which I need to beat to get to the next campaign. What happens is after I exhaust my movement for the turn and click to end turn, the game freezes up during the enemy team's turn and then crashes to the point I have to ctrl alt delete so I can shut the game down. I've tried multiple times and for a bit I could get a little further then before but now it keeps crashing over and over at the same point. If its related to the game play issues, it happens after I beat the third demon gate and killed the demon hero. I head south on the map after the third gate and when I get to a mercury pickup, I have to end my turn before I pick it up. That's when the game keeps crashing.

HoMM5 I am getting a crash every time I take the inferno town in Raelag's offer. While checking I see that the game is 1.6. The Campaign is now uncompleteable as it crashes in this scene. Is there a patch or fix for this crash?

I also tried restarting a new campaign. when I get to that one, in Raelag's offer, after taking the 1st inferno town, it will still crash.

Same level - game crashes

Solved it by not using sanctuaries – the game crashed whenever I left a hero there.
