It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

There is thread about Verok mod here in 'pinned topics'. Link should be there on some of the latest messages.

Reinstall\verify (better twice in a row since current Galaxy no more report result) game. To use with Verok - rename _ddraw.dll.
If you not want to use Verok - rename _ddraw.dll and make sure game itself work. Configure game ingame settings (do nto forget that 1280x1024 is 5:4 and NOT a maximum resolution for this game, use lower one isntead).
Go back to ddraw, rename it to normal, use dxcfg.exe and set everything to 'by application'. Check game. Then reconfigure few opion to what you like (do not change aspect ratio\pixel ratio options, let it keep).

Many report of that their Win10 not work with GOG DX wrapper (which one exactly for Win10). I dont know exact reason. Maybe ot latest stable update vuild for Win10. Or opposite - too much updaed (Win10 is Win10, broken entirely).

But first what can be suggested - reinstall GOG Galaxy (if you use it) and game to path:
X:\Games\GOG\
X:\Games\Heroes-4\
no C:, program files non-latin letters ' _ ' spaces and etc symbols (and nt even default path!).

it is probably doe to some security. And ofc dxcfg.ini file. DXCFG should have access to it, it cannot get it from 'non-Games' location.

Okay, I'm back to before. Only Verok's files are executable and the damn dxcfg won't run the game no matter how I set it up.
I am a Windows 11 user. This September patch just took my time.
If you will and already ise Verok's mod - rename ddraw.dll and do not rename it back. DXCFG will not be used. With Verok mod ingame settings for resolution shouldb e set to minimum.

If even verok's opengl not working... i dont know. Nowadays Google, Valve, Nvidia and Microsoft do everything to broke backward compatibility (i mean - everything, not just forget to make it working). So Steam and any else Overlays based on Chromium cause a lot of troubles, at least on Win8.

For Verok's mod - download AppCompatibilityChecker from him and use it make sure there is no comatibilities on game exe (and thete is some from GOG preseted).

Use something one: - GOG' DXCFG wrapper + pre-set compatibilies;
- or no compatibilities, no DXCFG, renamed ddraw.dll and Verok's wrapper-mod installed.
Hello all,

Had issues with launching the game after the last update too... Seems like it is now working on my side in windowed mode ...
For HeroesGL mod - use this

same on my end as well...
I tried to launch Heroes of Might & Magic 4 Complete, I have tried the following (in diffent combinations as well) with no succes:
> GOG launcher (default way i launch gog games)
> Ran the compatibility Troubleshooter
> Ran in compatibility mode (Windows XP [SP2, SP3], Windows Vista [SP1, SP2], Windows 7, Windows 8)
> Reduced Color mode
> Run in 640x480 screen resolution
> disable fullscreen optimization
> Run This program as an Administrator
> use legacy display ICC color management

what am i doing wrong?
edit: I am also running windows 11 and an AMD setup (CPU & GPU)

Did you solve it? I am running fine on Windows 11 64-bit, both in base mode and with the high res mod, but I am using an Intel/NVidia PC.
