Bought this game for a friend.
Never played it before, so I gave it a shot.
Now I'm hooked.

It's ridiculously good, the kind of game you might find yourself playing 20 years later if you still had a computer that could play it.

I really like old games, but I was kinda avoiding HoMM due to its "magic" theme, which never interested me much.
But I have to say that it works really well and too bad that I didn't try it sooner.

Glad you like it. If a game is good enough, sometimes it wins over even those who don't normally like its genre, or don't even like the idea of playing games much at all. I've played HOMM's 1 through 3 and was utterly charmed and won over into a permanent fan who has played hundreds of hours.
