This problem may have been solved on other areas of the forum, but im going to put this up anyway.
So I bought HOMM 2 in the recent sale, (because i love re-living my childhood :P) I was very excited to find that the soundtrack came with it. But i have found that many of the mp3`s in the .zip file are basically corrupt. The system sees they are they, but it can`t play them (the Knights Castle theme for example)
If anyone has any solutions, they would be much appreciated!

The soundtrack is just the music from the original game cd ripped. Unfortunately gog used a defect cd and wanted to replace it with a new rip. This was in March, but the installer and so the tracks are still the same. Only solution is to remind them to put a new soundtrack and installer up.

I have to bump this maybe GOG still doesn't know they are giving defect MP3 files.

I just bought Heroes 2, downloaded the soundtrack, most the files are indeed corrupted.

Can we get non-corrupted music files please?

I'd suggest you also contact customer support. You paid for it, after all.

I've contacted support but after doing a quick search in the forums it shocked me to learn this has been a problem since 2010 I dunno if even before that, nothing has been done yet.

Maybe not enough customers since 2010 have informed them about it or there hasn't been enough exposure about it since then.

Also the soundtrack used for the towns in HoMM2 are wrong and the game does not have all the HoMM2 music.

EDIT:Play the Standard campaign and necro town has the expansion music. I like the Standard better :(.

I only have HOMM 3 (thank you KOCollins!) but all seems to be in place on my side with this game.

I'd mail them myself, but it would look rather funny (me thinks) demanding answers for a game I didn't buy.

They answered back. Said to use VLC player or WinAmp(anyone feeling the 90's?). Installed VLC player, it plays them fine with no trouble but it can be fixed on their side so fans and new players(we need more HoMM fans!) don't have problems.

Winamp is still the best audio player out there, by being the most feature full and customizable. What player are you using?
