I have had a problem with the game for several days. After making a few moves on the map, the screen freezes, I hear music, but I can't do anything, I can't see the cursor. I can't even turn off the game. Do you have the same? How to solve it? I uninstalled the game and installed, verified and repaired, nothing helps.:(

I had the same issue on my previous laptop, I think you have to go to your task manager (once HOMM is launched), then go in "details" tab. There you can look for the Heroes line, right click and click on "define affinity" (translated from French sorry :D), then you apply only 1 processor.
After doing it on my end, the freez issue did not appear again (you have to redo it each time you launch Heroes by the way ...)

Better check tjere what is block game exe process. or to be more correct - dosbox.exe.

Also, disappearing cursor - some app interfer game window. aybe some app with overay (including hidden overlays).
Try to change dosbox settings in conf-file
