Hi,

Sorry for the dummy question, but I couldn't find how to setup my keyboard in French ingame.

The problem is that some passwords for color doors include accented caracters like « é » or « è » and with a QWERTY keybord, it seems I cannot reproduce them... so I'm stuck with those doors.

Thank yoiu in advance for your answer ! :)

I don't think you can do that in game. Have you tried to switch/change your keyboard layout in your OS settings?
Hi dahbk,

Thank you for your answer. I already use french display in my OS, so in Dosbox moreover :)

I don't think that you can enter any set of characters in the game. and I think that keyboard layouts get overrided anyway.
I'm even surprised that game can have è or é chars.
maybe it is version dependent. different exe and graphic files for in game button icons with text for English. Russian. Polish and other releases (incl French)
maybe try to enter alt-code . I'm referring to this table.

https://www.alt-codes.net/
for example: è would be "alt + 138" on keyboard. it's just a wild guess
I'd have to check my self to be sure it works tho.
Edit:
I checked it and it seems to be impossible to enter any other alphabetical or different char than game exe was supposed to receive. Anything foreign is rendered as a dot. I think it depends on exe/game release language. It overrides any keyboard input. Alt codes does not work. Windows copy.paste ect commands does not work.
Can You attach this map you are playing, that contains these é and è chars?

Hi Dahbk,

Thank you for your answers :) in fact, I guess this is not map-dependant as the password you need to enter are randomly generated when you start a new game. So if I restart that map, I'll have new passwords to enter.

The fact is that on a map I'm actually playing (Ghost Planet), there are at least 8 doors. So the probability to have at least one or two passwords including é or è is high...

Don't know what to do except uninstall the game and re-install it in English. That's not really a problem for me but what a pity.

Thank you anyway ! :)

Hi Mornagest ;)

Prior to starting the game, try this command in DOSBox prompt:
keyb fr
It should switch to a standard French AZERTY mapping, including accentuated characters.

EDIT: I see you already use keyb fr, so I guess something else is amiss…
