So, I'm planning to play this game in hotseat mode with another person and I'm curious about how long would one game take? We're both pretty much complete noobs to this game, so I don't know if that will make the games longer or shorter.

Of course I realize that the answer will vary from game to game, but in general. Are we talking something like 1-2 hours per game? 5-10 hours? 10+ hours?

Really depends on a lot of factors. If it's just you two, it's a smaller-sized map without too many powerful neutral armies etc., it can be in a 1-2 hour window. Expanding the settings increases the expected playtime considerably (especially map size).
