Are units and their upgraded versions treated separately as favoured enemies?

i.e. if I choose peasants as my favoured enemy, will the bonuses work against conscripts too?

I've wondered about this one myself, especially since I think the upgrades are listed separately. I think I usually just picked the version I'm more likely to be fighting (non-upgraded if I'm still fighting neutrals, upgraded if the enemies are using upgraded versions) and just run with it.

They are actually separate. The Rain of Arrows for example will not go for non-upgraded if you have upgraded only and vice versa.

However, both upgraded and anupgraded count towards the 2 populations you have to kill.

Good to know. That also means the programmers wouldn't have to worry as much about coming back and changing the skill around if/when they add more creatures, since they added that alternate upgrade to everything.
