Hi, the previous night (and the nights before) I was playing HoMM3 normally and without fault. But suddenly when I try to play it tonight the intro stutters and lags, and when I get into the menu it freezes up. I can hear the music fine but the screen is either black or it has the main screen but with small black squares where the mouse was (which also lags like no tomorrow). Even when I tried updating the game with the patch it still happens. Can anyone help me?

I have the same problem, but for me it has always been like this. Just tried a fresh install of the game, but to no avail. Tried different compability settings as well. May be worth mentioning that I can play both HoMM2 and 4 without any issues. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

1. Try updating sound and video drivers.
2. Try updating DirectX.
3. If previous two tips have not helped then try HD Mod.
