My friend wants to play HoMM3 on Mac... I've installed her Wine and have been able to run smaller games like Age of Wonders.

Anyone been able to run it on Mac? How is it? I haven't found anything yet on the web.

I don't know if this is still a present problem, but well. Not sure about OS X but I'm playing this game in Linux via Wine so I guess it should work on Macs, too.

HOMM3 should work alright with Wine, but I like to try to get Windows games to work on OS X using Wineskin because it's much more user friendly. It makes the game feel more like a Mac App

HOMM3 works brilliantly with Wineskin.

I heart Wineskin. By the way, Wineskin multiplayer? Having zero success so far. The game crashes if I so much as try TCP/IP.

Edit: It turns out I had a problem with my hostname being passed onto the dphsockx dll. Can be fixed by checking your file private/etc/hosts to see if it has your IP and hostname in it. If it doesn't, add it (without removing anything) and you should be done. Do a restart afterwards just in case.
