Last night I played and beat the "Faeries!" scenario. It's one of those highly scripted, highly controlled scenarios where they throw in a bunch of story elements and you're supposed to progress through the map along a predetermined path.
I generally like those kind of maps. But here's something interesting about this one: it seems the map is bugged in that the way you're "supposed" to beat it doesn't work. One of the roads is blocked off by a tree (at the southeast corner of the map).
So instead, I kept restarting the scenario until my starting town had Summon Boat in the Mage Guild. Using that, you can call a boat to yourself from one of the areas of the map and use it to get to a place you're not supposed to access until later. So you end up doing the "middle" portion of the map backwards.
I'm sure Water Walk and Fly could be used in a similar fashion, but you might struggle more to get a hero who can cast them.
Has anyone else solved this map without opening it in the editor and removing the tree?
