Hi, I'm trying to figure out if there is a away to split units in homm2 using touch only. I can get the full virtual keyboard up and it has a hold shift feature, but doesnt work in game for some reason.

I'm using a surface pro 6 with windows 10.

You don't have to hold the shift key. You just have to shift-click empty cell to split units. Maybe you can add some custom touch pattern, like two finger tap is shift+mouse click?

Also, you can do this: pres and hold one of the shift keys and then, while holding first shift key pres other shift key. This is enabling something like "permanent shift on" in the game. You can undo this by pressing again the last shift key you used in that combination.

For example: right shift+left shift to enable. Then left shift to cancel.
Or: left shift+right shift to enable and right shift to cancel.

If you won't cancel, you will have !@#$... instead of numbers, if you want to put in numbers via keyboard in stead of using up and down arrows in a "split unit" menu :)

As far as I'm convinced, you can only use number row above letters to input values in the game. You cant use right side number keypad... That's on real keyboard. Don't know about tablets tho.

Still, you have to use keyboard (physical or virtual) to input value for how many units to split.
If you want to be able to split units "touch only", I guess you're stuck with those arrows (see attach :D)
and permanent "shift on". That means you won't be able to move units. Only split. Every single time. Until you cancel it. I imagine, that would be a nightmare. :)
