I just got HOMM5. When I start the game it does not recognize when I am clicking my mouse on a button so I can't even accept my profile name or open any other menus. This is an old problem, going back at least to 2011, is there a known solution?

I tried going to GOG automated support that that would be considered more useless than support offered by a colony of cherrystone clames.
