Playing Tale of Two Land
Four Players , Two Continents

Just won a battle I should not have won. Did it with Blind Spell (I let Auto run the Battle). Larger groups could be attacked by all my armies one at a time, while blind spell kept major opponents at bay.
Yes, I could rerun and not use it. But when I am hit with Blind Spell, I feel like an idiot not using it myself.

Question to the Board, I feel this is an overpowered spell. Big time. Level 2 and lasts quite a few turns? I can't think of another spell that turn the tide at so little cost. Am I missing something?
It doesn't work on all creatures.
It only affects one stack, while Expert Slow and Haste affects all, and Expert Berserk several stacks.
There are counter artefacts.
Target still gets to retaliate, unless you have Expert Fire in which case Berserk, the really OP spell, is more effective.
Blind is a level 2 spell costing 10 spell points per cast.
Dispel, by which one hero can counter another's Blind, is a level 1 spell costing 5 spell points per cast.

When not dispelled (or cured), Blind lasts for as many rounds as the caster's Power.
if you have dispell or the amulet, yes, it doesn't work
But at level 2, it immobilizes one or two top fighting groups very early. Seen too many cheap victories that way.
In itself Blind is not OP as a winning tactic, but combine it with Expert Resurrection it is OP for not just winning, but to do so without suffering any losses.
Incidentally this is the kind of situation where if the enemy hero has the the anti-Blind artifact, that Hypnotize may actually be useful.

Blind is quite powerful in many circumstances, but you have be to prepared to use it. Don't bring a Ballista if you're planning to use Blind unless you have the skill to control the ballista. You need enough spell points (it isn't cheap), and you need enough spell power for it to actually last. Counters include Cure and Dispel, and possibly Anti-magic.
If Cure works, then that would ease things. That is common enough. I never though of using it.
Also, another site thinks a group spell (like fire ball), if my blind troop is adjacent, might end it also.

Give it a try anyway.

Thanks
Would Protection from Fire stop Blind? Always, or only % chance if less than expert?

Anyway, the game is Heroes of Might & Magic. Mighty heroes improve attack and defense across their whole army. Early level magical heroes aren't going to turn many battles with damage spells, so do need something else. The influence spells are there to be used. Fair enough that a magical hero can do better than a mighty hero one battle, at the cost of having no spell points left for the next one.

Pretty sure not. The Protection From X spells just reduce damage when hit by a spell of X type damage.
