Hi,


I'm about to upgrade from Microsoft Windows 7: Home Premium to Microsoft Windows 8: Pro and the Microsoft Windows 8 Compatibility Assistant indicates that Heroes of Might and Magic V is not compatible... In fact, this is one of the last items on my list that is not compatible.

The Windows 8 Compatibility Assistant indicates that an update is still available, but when I update or re-install Heroes of Might and Magic V, I am still told that an update is available!

When will a working update be made available for Heroes of Might and Magic V?

The game should work fine on Windows 8 without extra interference. :)

The best way to get around this issue is to disable the Compatibility Assistant, as this functionality (arguably) serves no real purpose, other than creating popup windows and causing confusion.

Instructions on how to do this can be found online, for instance here:

I'm able to run the game under Windows 8, but I'm crashing right at the end of Mission 2 of the first campaign (Rebellion). I get the "Mission Complete" dialog and the final cut scene plays, then the game crashes.

I've tried various compatibility settings, have the latest video drivers, etc. Any other ideas?
