Hello there!
I managed to work heroes 3 but there are no maps and when I try to create a random map it writes: "cannot create random_map.h3m in data directory."
In addition, I can not save games when I play a campaigned game.
My third problem is that every tie I open the game I must see the entire movie at the start before i reach to the main menu without being able to press a button that will cancel the movie and bring me to the main menu.
I would like for help :)
Thanks.

If you installed the game in Program Files uninstall and then reinstall it somewhere else.

Or, just, you know, run the game as administrator or disable User Account Control altogether.

#1 - For the random map problem, create a folder called "random_maps" in your HOMM3 installation folder.

#2 - Can you explain this one a little more ? Does the game crash when you try to save when playing campaign, or do the save files not show up in the Load Game in menu ?

#3 - Go to your registry editor (regedit.exe), and go to the following entry:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\New World Computing\Heroes of Might and Magic III\1.0

and change value of the the key "First time" to 0.

If your OS is x64 bit, after HKEY...\Software go to Wow6432Node and then the usual New World Computing\HOMM3 etc...

Good luck!
