Pretty sure stereo with opera works in Win7, I normally run in Win7, but at the moment I'm waiting for a driver release before I switch back to it.

HoMM2 comes with dosbox, so you don't need to set that part up.

and it's 283MB because they encoded the music with OGG Vorbis to save space, and the dosbox settings use the ogg files in place of the CD-Audio tracks.

So, basically... if you buy GOG's release of Heroes of Might & Magic 2 Gold, all you have to do is download and install, then double-click the icon on your desktop to play the game.
thx
someone can confirm that the cd stereo with opera work in win 7?
and there is cinematics in the game?
The cinematics are there and I can't confirm the Win 7 part because I run XP.
on xp there is stereo? on vista? no one run it on win 7? xD
And thx klaymen

I'm running Win7 x64 and I bought the Mastertronic Might & Magic Heroes Collection (http://www.amazon.com/Might-Heroes-Collection-Episodes-Expansion-Pc/dp/B0051UMYLW/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1314137248&sr=8-5).

Initially, I could not get the CD Stereo w/ Opera to work, but after reading some forum posts here (I don't remember which ones) I discovered that the CD Stereo w/ Opera music works great as long as you have the HoMM2 CD in the first drive. If you have multiple drives and you have the HoMM2 CD in any drive but the first, it won't work.

I have seen reports here on the forums that GoG's version works just fine in Win7. That's probably because the GoG version is the DOS version and runs just fine on DOSBox.

Shoot. Sorry that didn't work for you. If you have been able to play other games using DOSBox (http://www.dosbox.com/) then GOG's version of HoMM2 ought to work just fine for you.
some one play it on win 7 so please tell me if it work
I have just tried, opera stereo works on Windows 7. However on my computer Homm2 has some annoying sound stuttering issues with every sound mode except midi. I suspect this is due to my slow processor (1GHz dual) but I'm not sure.
I also have it running on Windows 7. The only sound issue I've noticed is when my hero goes through teleport gates it sounds scratchy and broken. Other than that, all the music and such sounds great!
Thx !!!
solved i going to buy this one!

I fixed this in DOSBox 0.74
