I've seen it mentioned in some of the reviews that the music is poorly ripped 96kbit OGGs? Has that been fixed in the mean time?

HoMM2 DOS version uses 192kbps OGGs with FLAC soundtrack provided as downloadable extra goodie, so you can rip it into whatever you prefer.
