Windows version would be more preferable than DOS, for both Linux, Mac and Windows users.
DOS version relies on Dosbox project, which emulates bytecode. There is major performance hit.
Windows version relies on Wine project, which is an API layer and because it just translates the library function calls, there is no performance hit.
Also, dear GOG, if you package DOS games - I know you probably have strict packaging policy, but still - would you mind packaging the actual payload as a separate common type archive? Not everyone wants extra copy of Dosbox, not everyone has Wine installed.
That way, the user will have to just extract that archive and paste the game into his existing Dosbox directory.
