It's as simple as the title suggests. Whenever I'm in combat and a unit of mine makes a move there is a chance that the game will freeze/crash during the action of that unit. I can have a few fights before i encounter this bug again which forces me to relog since task manager or alt+f4 do not do the job of shutting it down.

I've tried completely uninstalling and deleting the folder and reinstalling, scanning and fixing it. None of those have worked so far.

I would greatly appreciate your help since this game has nostalgic value to me (unpopular opinion i know).

I'm trying to use the suggested Dxwnd. But when running it the game is oversized in the window and not controllable.
Which settings should i change to make at least the whole game visible?
