I've downloaded Heroes of might and magic 3 complete. Now when I installed it, it says that the CD wasn't found.
What should I do?

Couple of possibilities:
1) Did you have the disc version of HOMM3 previously installed? If so there might be some parts that weren't completely removed and are overriding the GOG components, causing the disc check to trigger.
2) Did you try to patch the game or do anything else that could have modified the exe? A change to the GOG exe, reverting it back to a version of the disc-based HOMM3 exe would put the CD check back in.

What should I do?
In more detail:
-Right click the shortcut to the game or the actual game file
-Select Run as Administrator (or the equivalent in whatever language OS you have)
-If a box pops up, answer Yes or Allow
If you're using a non-administrator user account, it might ask for a administrator password. With that I couldn't help you. Anyway, I hope this works for you.

I was lazy and didn't look around on this site before I posted this problem, so I did as it stood and runned it as the administrator.

I had both the problems mentioned here:
I had an old version of the cd version of heroes 3 installed (which I'd given up on due to "cd errors"). I forgot to remove it. Thanks.
It was necessary to run it as administrator.
I think it should not be necessary to run it as administrator, and would like to see that fixed, but at least I can play the game now.
