Concerning HoMM3 (again), Armageddon's blade brings out another nice feature : the space bar that triggers an object on the adventure map. Extremely useful and tactically interesting.

I can't say which one is my favourite. I like them all, from I to V included, because each one is still HoMM, and that's the most important. Okay, this one or that one might have a feature/aspect that lacks in this or that other one, but frankly, who cares as long as you have fun playing it ?

Actually, I love 5 and want to give another shot to 4. The only ones I would NOT buy are 4, because it's ... well it's different than other heroes, thus it won't really give you a picture about series

No, I mean 4, I love 3 the most. Yes, I DID say they should pay people for playing that game and yes, it IS the worst looking game in the series even thou it's 4th installment, which has to be some kind of achievement by itself

3 > 4 > 2 > 1 = 5

HoMM 3 definetely. For now it's only games I play so long. I started 9 years ago and still play it often. I can't count how many times i screwed the school because of it :-).

2 >> 1 = 3 = 4 >> 5. 3 and 4 are not hotseat-able; games take too darn long. Also their campaigns and castle types are forgettable. 1's a bit too simple. and 5 is just no fun (Nival is not up to snuff). 2 is the only one I ever go back to.

Oh, I'm sooo happy that GoG reminded me of this game. Just bought it.
HoMM 3 is the best

I definitely won't ever understand why some people despise HoMM 4 and 5 so much. I've played all installments of the series, and enjoyed every one of them. Some are less good looking? That's a matter of taste. I love both the HoMM3 and 5 designs of troops and castles, for example.
HoMM 4 has flaws ? No. It is just radically different from the others. Well, you can't blame New World Computing for trying different things, can you? You just have to get accustomed to it, that's all. If you don't like it, it doesn't make it a bad game...
