So I've been having issues with my Homm3 complete running from Gog. I'm running on Windows 10.

After installation, an error prompts reading that "Heroes of might and magic 3 has stopped working." This occurs after I try to launch the game.

The list of things I've tried to remedy the solution and have failed include:

June2010 DIrectX
adjusted various compatibility versions
imagecfg

I can't figure out what else the problem could be :(

See if the HD patch helps you

It works yes, but not for armageddons blade or ROE. plus I'm having issues with the random map generator. Is there a method to get it working as it should from the original?

RoE and AB don't even have separate executables in the Complete Edition, what are you talking about?

Disable User Acoount Control. Use the second tip from here: http://www.howto-connect.com/stop-user-account-control-uac-on-windows-10/
i was referring to the ROE and AB for the HD patch version that ZDR suggested to download. .

I tried the 2nd tip you mentioned from that list. no luck :(
In the HD mod's launcher, tick the no-CD function. This will replace the standard EXE with one that should be more stable.
If you're installing in Program Files, try installing somewhere else. Older titles can have problems in Program Files on modern Windows.

Disabling User Account Control bypasses just that.

That creates a security problem, though.

Easier (and safer) to just install it somewhere else, like a "Games" folder. :)
Ya I tried that already. I have it installed in a "gog games" folder.

Well, I guess I was useless here, then.

It really takes skill to catch something that uses that "exploit". UAC is more trouble than it's worth for anyone doing more than occasional Chrome browsing.
