What the hell! I chose Kalig the fighter as first soul and there are several quests to do in Thole.

First you go to the graveyard, kill some spiders, dump a cursed dead wife and some other things. Then the guild asks you to kill the spider queen and get rid of the plague altogether. She is hard was hell.

I probably do some other things before going back there...

It's a boss battle afterall, prepare some buffs, area of effects skills and healing items/boosters. Being surrounded is instant game over for that arena. Do-able on level 7-10 on normal but easier in Devourer realm for sure. ;-)

Yesterday I made it to level 5 by doing some quests in town and then some crafting for better equipment.

It seems the plot goes all the other stuff in town -> spider queen -> entry to Steel-Guild (Stahlgilde) -> confront my son...

There is plenty to do beforehand.

//edit: turned lvl5 and feel pretty imba now that I can wear all the stuff I found. Trapped in the cellar of the mercenary guild... :)

I am still missing two volumes about Thole and there is a locked door in the graveyard I cannot open. Did I miss something?

p.s. I am currently running through all the maps as demon and damn I shouldn't have dumped Dione (the wife) in the courtyard.

I just did it with the archer character (forgot his name) on normal, my char was level 5. Lots of running around and lots of using the Magic Arrow on the smaller spiders to collect essence for healing. Was able to keep my distance and kill the Queen in about 3 minutes.

I suggest using Urushk and his explosive flask. You can get him by doing motel quest. Make sure your movement speed is high and just deploy that flask behind yourself every time cooldown ends. You will deal AOE damage on the Queen and her minions. Just keep moving and no one will hit you much, and even if they do, you will have a steady flow of souls from all those spiders dying because of your Explosive Flask skill. I've beaten the Spider Queen in one try this way. I was level 5 at the time.

Make use of Devourer-shifting to evade crowds and stay out of reach of the nastier enemies generally. This isn't as applicable to a melee character, but they'll often still need a breather and switching to the Devourer and popping back somewhere else nearby is often the best way do it.

The locked door in the graveyard is the entrance to one of the imperial tombs. It is only accessible (and only relevant) when playing with Evia as the main character.
