Why does this game so long back on the patch and gog still dont have the new version of the game why?

i dont want too buy the game on steam too get the right one but if nothing happed i need to do it becase gog is behind on the version that steam have why is that????

AFAIK it's because BitComposer (the publisher) went into insolvency at just the right(wrong) time, halting the GoG release of that patch and both the GoG and Steam releases of all further ones. Games Farm (the developer) will presumably release them once the BitComposer situation has been dealt with.

The situation has now been solved and the developement of book 2 has continued. They are also planning on porting the current game to a new engine. Also the 3 DLC Quests are now free for everyone and a new French language pack has arrived.
