as the title says - in fullscreen the game crashes instantly on start, windowed it goes like 0.3 fps and even mouse cursor updates like this. can't even turn that sh.. off with that speed :-/ (I really can't imagine how bad the code must be to behave like this)

Try changing the resolution with the config tool and running the game again; it worked for me on fullscreen. I have the same problem you have while in windowed mode.

OS: Windows 7 64-bit SP1
CPU: Intel Core i7-2600K
RAM: 32,00GB
GPU: GeForce GTX 580 x2 (disabling SLI doesn't seem to change anything for me)
I have an AMD card and use the directx11 engine, works flawless on Windows 7.
I've gotten it to run once or twice in Win 98 mode without the artifact issues, but usually it crashes as you noted, on ntdll.dll, which isn't very helpful but seems to indicate some core hardware conflict. When it doesn't crash, it runs too slow to be playable.

Keep seeing similarities but no fixes. At this point I'm just hoping other people see these posts and consider carefully before buying this game if they have a PC made since 2010, especially if on a gaming laptop.
Since it isn't clear from the post and there are two games you could be referring to, are you running Shadows or Inqusition?

Does your laptop have more than one GPU option (usually an Intel Integrated along with a proper one)? If so, the game may be hooking into the wrong one, and that definitely causes problems.

One other thing: if it's Shadows, does switching between render modes (DirectX 9 / DirectX 11) make any difference? As I understand it the game was developed for DX9 and will usually run better on that version, but DX11 is sometimes better for compatibility.
