BitComposer (the publisher) went into insolvency late last year and there has been an effective blackout on what their current situation is due to the legal procedings. The developer can't say anything either (if they actually know anything). Some of the developers' posts indicated that work had continued on Book 2 in the meantime, but beyond that there's no word.

They essentially said that while BitComposer has some problems, the development over Book 2 is secured and will be finished no matter what.
