I.e. when using Wings of Wrath.

I can land using home, and pressing num lock twice will take me up to the ceiling.
Page up & page down doesn't do anything.

If you're running Heretic in DOS, run setup.exe and go to "Configure Controller".

If you're using GZdoom, go to Options --> Customize Controls

Thanks. I wonder why this wasn't set to something sensible by whomever packaged this for GOG.

To be honest, you are much better off using GZdoom or Chocolate Heretic, since these do not rely upon DOSBox or DOS in general in order to be run.

I urge you to look at this thread regarding Heretic and Hexen 1 sourceports:

You will spare yourself a lot of grief and frustration dealing with DOS.
